September 2020 saw the launch of the Malvern Pathways Programme for Middle Leaders, a bespoke training course for new and experienced middle leaders from across the Malvern College family of schools. The programme has been developed by Malvern College International in collaboration with Karen Ardley of Karen Ardley Associates using industry-standard benchmarks to ensure that content and coverage offers participants an industry-leading professional development opportunity. In all, 15 participants have started the programme, bringing together colleagues from our schools in Chengdu, Qingdao, Hong Kong and Egypt, as well as Malvern College, UK and The Downs Malvern. Participants took part in three days of virtually facilitated sessions covering aspects of personal leadership, leadership of teams and using coaching as part of effective leadership.
Throughout the year the participants will focus on developing their leadership skills in the workplace as well as preparing for a presentation to school leaders towards the end of the academic year, after the second facilitated sessions.
The Malvern Pathways Middle Leaders Programme is the first in series of programmes that will be rolled out over the next four years to support colleagues across the Malvern Family of Schools at various several different stages of their career, making Malvern the natural choice for highly motivated, career-oriented professionals with a desire for ongoing professional development opportunities.
