Jenny Henman

Jenny Henman is an environmental professional, social entrepreneur and educator who attended Malvern College (House 6) between 1996-98. She founded ‘Plant Your Future’ in 2009, a grassroots non-profit organisation that works to empower subsistence farmers in the Peruvian Amazon to reforest their degraded farms and adopt sustainable farming. Plant Your Future fosters a regenerative agriculture model, brining trees back into the landscape to help restore nutrients and the protective canopy for the soils to regenerate. Since 2009 the charity has planted over 300,000 trees with smallholder farming communities. Jenny’s expertise has been developed across 17 years working, living and studying in tropical forest conservation and sustainable development in Asia, Africa and South America. She earnt a master’s degree in environmental studies from Brown University, utilising research undertaken in the Peruvian Amazon, and went on to work as a Climate specialist for organisations such as the World Bank and bp before starting her charity.
