Giles Foden

Giles Foden is the bestselling author of several books, most notably the prize-winning novel ‘The Last King of Scotland’. This novel is inspired by Foden’s twenty years’ experience living in Africa and utilises plot elements of Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’ to depict the rise of former Ugandan President Idi Amin. Foden attended Malvern College in the 80s and went on to study English at the University of Cambridge before venturing into journalism and subsequently lecturing at top UK Universities
