🏅London Marathon Success for OM! Fantastic performance by Old Malvernian Rose Harvey in the 2025 London Marathon this weekend. After the frustrations of the Paris Olympics, where Rose suffered a broken leg, she came home in an incredible time of 2.25.01 as the 2nd placed Briton (behind Eilish McColgan) and 9th overall in the Women's elite race! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Happy Saint George's Day! Today marks Saint George's Day, a national celebration of the patron saint of England. At Malvern College in the UK, St George holds a special place as a memorial statue of him was opened in 1922 to honour Old Malvernians who lost their lives in conflict. From the quadrangle of main building our majestic statue of St George watches over the school. BUT did you know: 🌏St. George is also the patron saint of many other countries such as Georgia, Albania, Romania, Greece, and Ethiopia! 💡It is believed he was born in Cappadocia, an area now in Turkey, and lived during the 3rd century. ✝️He was a devoted Christian and served in the Roman army, despite protesting against the Romans' poor treatment of Christians. He was eventually imprisoned and killed for his religious beliefs. 🐉Most people think of St. George as a hero slaying a dragon, but this legend only became famous when it was printed in 1483 in a book called The Golden Legend. However, this legend has become so ingrained in English culture that St. George has become an emblem of nobility, knighthood, and bravery, and it is the cross of St. George that features on the English national flag! #malverncollegeinternational #stgeorgesday #patronsaint

🐣Happy Easter from Malvern College International! As many celebrate Easter Sunday, we reflect on the themes of renewal, hope, and new beginnings. Easter is a time cherished by many around the world, marked by vibrant traditions and joyous gatherings. 💡Did you know? • The Easter Bunny, a symbol of fertility and new life, has its origins in German folklore. The "Osterhase" would lay colourful eggs for children to find. • In many countries, Easter eggs are decorated with intricate designs. In Ukraine, the art of decorating eggs is known as "pysanka," a tradition that dates back centuries. • In the UK, it's common to enjoy hot cross buns, spiced sweet buns marked with a cross, symbolizing the crucifixion of Jesus. At Malvern College International, we embrace the diversity of our global community and the rich tapestry of cultural celebrations. Whether you're enjoying an Easter egg hunt, attending a special service, or simply spending time with loved ones, we wish you a joyful and blessed Easter.🐰 #EasterSunday #HappyEaster #MalvernCollegeInternational #GlobalCommunity #CulturalCelebration
