Shaping Our Youngest Malvernians
Malvern College Pre-School Hong Kong (MCPSHK) has quickly established an excellent reputation in Hong Kong for delivering learning outcomes through a truly 50-50 bilingual, play-based approach. Through secure, organised and innovative programmes, MCPSHK aims to prepare children for a smooth transition into full-time primary education.
MCPSHK operates from two sites: Coronation Circle in Kowloon, opened in 2017, and Island West on Hong Kong Island, opened in 2019. Children aged 2-5 are taught through the UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, based on the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which views the ‘environment as the third teacher.’ The Pre-School is one of the first in Hong Kong to include a Forest-Beach school in its curriculum, and both sites benefit from regular access to Forest-Beaches led by a qualified Level 3 Forest-Beach School leader. Children learn through a structured and free-play programme which introduces them to real-world concepts such as financial literacy.
